He holds a Ph.D. with distinction in GIS and Remote Sensing (Climate Change) from a joint doctoral program between Sapienza University of Rome and Salahaddin University\u2013Erbil, in addition to an M.Sc. with distinction in GIS and Remote Sensing Applications and a Postgraduate Diploma in Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation from the University of Twente (ITC), the Netherlands.
