About STAT Organization

Established in March 2023, the STAT Organization for Statistical Analysis and Training (STAT) is a scientific, non-governmental institution based in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. STAT is dedicated to promoting data-driven research, statistical analysis, and capacity building through the use of advanced analytical and GIS technologies. The organization conducts statistical surveys across various fields, with a focus on migration, social and family issues, social media, climate change, and other emerging areas of public interest. In addition to research, STAT offers consultancy and analytical support to public institutions, private companies, and academic researchers. Our services include market research, socio-economic and policy analysis, feasibility and impact studies, as well as data interpretation and visualization. STAT also assists universities and scholars with academic research design, statistical modeling, and database management, ensuring high-quality and evidence-based outcomes.
Founded in 2019 by a multidisciplinary team of academic professionals holding PhD and MSc degrees in statistics, economics, management, law, engineering, medicine, biology, and programming, the organization has since evolved into a nationally recognized NGO. STAT was created to address a critical gap in professional statistical and research services within Iraq, particularly in the Kurdistan Region. Guided by a commitment to excellence, STAT strives to contribute to the nation’s development by delivering international-standard statistical, analytical, and market research solutions that support evidence-based policy and decision-making.
The primary mission of STAT is to generate precise and reliable data covering all sectors of Iraqi society, with a particular focus on the Kurdistan Region. Our work spans the Economic, education, Health, industrial, agricultural, Commercial, social, political, environmental, and financial domains. STAT is dedicated to enhancing sustainable livelihoods by identifying key challenges, proposing data-driven solutions, and supporting capacity development through advanced research technologies and institutional collaboration.
Since 2019, STAT has expanded its operations across Iraq, with a strong presence in the Kurdistan Region. The organization has built skilled field teams in multiple provinces, composed of qualified interviewers—each holding at least a bachelor’s degree and proficient in Mobile Data Collection, SPSS, STATA, and R for data analysis.
